Best budget phones in India under Rs 10,000 for May 2021

The year 2020 was not so great for the budget smartphones in the sub Rs 10,000 segment. Due to the hike in GST and also lockdown and production issues, companies started raising the price of smartphones in this segment. However, fast forward to April 2021, the segment has got a bit better thanks to some price drops and a few new launches.

The smartphones under Rs 10,000 segment now consists of smartphones from Micromax, Xiaomi, Realme, Motorola, Samsung and Poco.

These smartphones offer a good overall good user experience with a solid build, great battery life, a display that is good for day to day usage and an improved camera at very reasonable prices.

And while there haven't been many launches in the past couple of months in this segment, we have seen brands dropping the price of their last-gen or slightly old devices which still offers value for money in 2021.

Samsung was the first in 2021 to launch a budget device. For now, there are a handful of options available in this segment. If you want to know the best phones under Rs 10,000 in India, we're here with the answers.

The list is led by Micromax who made its comeback last year and closely followed by Poco, Redmi, Samsung, and Realme phones. These phones are the best suites for light use as performance is not the highest priority in the segment. What you can expect is the fact that you get big batter which translates to excellent battery life and there are also a couple of stock Android phones.

Things like a Full HD+ display, gaming chipset, fast charging, good camera performance can be counted as an added bonus in this particular segment.

Micromax In 1

Display: 6.67-inch Full HD+, LCD, 60Hz | Processor: MediaTek Helio G80 | RAM: 4GB | Storage: 64GB | Rear camera: 48+2+2MP | Front camera: 8MP | Battery: 5000mAh, 18W | OS: Android 10 | Weight: 195g | Thickness: 8.95mm

Competitive specs
Clean Android
Big, bright display
No ultra-wide camera
Plastic body

You might be surprised by our first recommendation in the list coming from Micromax. Well, allow us to explain. The Micromax In 1 is the brand’s phone with competitive specs that undercuts Redmi and Realme on paper, but also in real-life usage and experience. The Micromax In 1 is powered by a gaming-centric MediaTek Helio G80 chipset - the phone feels smooth and responsive. Half of the credit of the performance should also go to the clean stock Android experience which has no bloatware, unnecessary apps or system ads in the interface either.

You get a large 6.67-inch screen that is really good for the price and in the camera department, the device sports a 48MP f/1.79 primary lens which is good enough for daylight pictures. Running all the internals is a large 5,000mAh battery and 18W fast charging.

The Micromax In 1 is a great buy for Rs 9,999 - you are getting a Full HD+ screen, a capable chipset, clean Android build, and a big battery coupled with fast charging., When you look at the overall package and the value the phone rings, there is not much to complain about the device.
