F1 live stream 70th Anniversary Grand Prix: how to watch the Silverstone GP from anywhere

We're back at Silverstone today for the one-off 70th Anniversary Grand Prix, which celebrates the first ever World Championship Formula One race that took place at Silverstone on May 13, 1950. The cars have changed a little bit since then, and we'd be surprised if one of the Alfa Romeos came out on top this time round. Our guide explains how to watch the F1 online and get a 70th Anniversary Grand Prix live stream today.

70th ANNIVERSARY GRAND PRIX LIVE STREAM

The 70th Anniversary Grand Prix starts at 2.10pm BST in the UK, which is 9.10am ET / 6.10am PT in the US. Sky Sports is the home of F1 racing in the UK and will be showing all the pre-race action from 12:30pm. In the US it's ESPN you want. If you're abroad you can tune in just like you would at home with the help of a good VPN - and you can save nearly 50% on our favourite, ExpressVPN.

Last week's race at Silverstone took a while to get going, but when it did it did not disappoint. Valtteri Bottas was in second place with two laps to go when his tyre disintegrated at the worst possible moment - just as he'd passed the pits. That condemned him to an 11th-place finish, while his teammate Lewis Hamilton managed to crawl to victory on three wheels after suffering his own puncture on the final lap, with Red Bull's Max Verstappen chasing him down the whole time.

Bottas, who signed a contract extension with Mercedes this week, is in pole position for the 70th Anniversary Grand Prix, having just edged Hamilton in qualifying. Third on the grid is Nico Hulkenberg, who swooped in to rescue Racing Point at the 11th hour last week when regular driver Sergio Perez tested positive for coronavirus, only for his car to refuse to start last Sunday.

Hulkenberg has famously never managed a podium finish in F1, and only the hardest of hearts would begrudge him one today. That said, Racing Point haven't exactly endeared themselves to the rest of the grid, their Mercedes-aping antics having landed them in hot water with the authorities, to the tune of a 15-point deduction and 400,000 euro fine.

Ready for some high-octane action? Here's how to get an F1 live stream and watch the 70th Anniversary Grand Prix online from anywhere.
