The Motorola One Vision is the phonemaker’s new handset, aimed at consumers who want a bit higher performance in their budget phones. The Vision has better specs, camera and outright looks than the Motorola Moto G7 line released earlier this year, and is the first model in the company’s new Motorola One line of phones.
What does that mean? That the Motorola One phones will come out at different cadences than the G or Z lines to take advantage of new technologies, the company told TechRadar.
In the Vision’s case, it’s a long 6.3-inch FHD+ 21:9 screen (up from 19:9 in the Moto G7), with a narrower dimension for easier handling and a hole punch (bye-bye, notch). It has a larger 128GB capacity and bigger 3,500mAh battery to boot.
The cameras have also been upgraded to a 48MP rear camera and 25MP front-facing shooter, both with an optional “quad pixel” mode that enlarges the pixels (while reducing image resolution) for better low-light performance. A dedicated Night Vision mode combines eight images, HDR-style, and takes the best parts of each.
As part of the Android One program, the phone will get monthly security updates for three years.
Who is the Motorola One Vision for?
Ultimately, the Motorola One Vision is a leg up from the Moto G7, and comes in at roughly the same price point (discounts on the slightly older phone aside). The phone will launch in Europe in mid-May for €299; in the UK, it will be up for pre-order on May 16 and go on sale May 30 for £269 (roughly AU$499).
You can pick up the Vision in Brazil today for an undisclosed price, then Mexico next week and other countries in Latin America next month. Saudi Arabia and Thailand will also get it tomorrow, followed by other countries in Asia, Middle East and Australia in the “coming months,” per Motorola.
US and Canadian consumers are out of luck, sadly - Motorola has no plans to bring these phone to these markets.
